New Beginnings...

Hello fellow bloggers!

I bet you're all wondering who is this creature?

I know I've been a bad little blogger recently but I've just been so busy with University and slightly lost my muse. Is that the word I'm looking for? *hands over face*
However, like many other students at the moment, even though I'm up to my eyes in coursework, I have just really wanted to get back to my blog! I used to love sharing what I like and what I wish for and what not so want to keep sharing my love for fashion.

So since the last time I blogged, a lot has changed. (one of them being I don't know how to write anything thats not in third person or casually anymore!) As I'm currently studying Fashion Buying at University, I have learnt a lot more about the fashion industry which has made me love it more. I'm wanting to make my blog more professional and organised rather than just any old blog post slipped in. I want to write a lot more on fashion rather than beauty, however I am still obsessed with make-up and skincare so there will still be some posts up! I may also put up a few health and fitness posts up as I have recently lost 2 stone and learned the importance of a healthy diet so would love to help other people!

I want to change the layout of my blog and may change to wordpress or change the name of my blog, however I'm gonna have to learn how to do that all first and if it does happen I will be sure to let you all know!

EDIT: I have HAD to delete some of my previous posts because I couldn't stop cringing at some of my awful fashion mistakes. Sorry!

Love, Nicola

What's in my handbag?

Whilst flicking through Instagram the other day and spotting that River Island were giving students 20% off I immediately went on the website to see what I could find. I thought it would be rude not to seeing as though River Island never usually give out student discount! I spotted this handbag and fell in love. It's so structured and chic and I adore the colours! It looks very blue on the website but its the perfect mint colour, not all green and not all blue!

It's not as big as my other bags as I usually like to take everything I own need with me when I go out but it nicely fits everything in! It's so nice when you just start using a new bag because its so clean and and de-cluttered. So here's what I'm carrying in my new handbag.
I like to keep a range of beauty products with me so I can freshen up wherever I am. I do usually have 10,000 lipsticks floating around my bag but because this is a new bag I've put them back in their home. Nivea is one of my favourite brands as you can see, its so affordable and does the job it needs to do! I have two moisturisers because my hands are always dry. I don't think I could live without VS's Pure Seduction spray now because it's so nice and fruity. Perfect for the summer!
Of course I also have my purse, my boyfriend bought me this River Island one a couple of years ago and I still love it! I then have chewing gum, rennies, hand sanitizer and a tangle. If you have anxiety these tangles are a lifesaver to keep your hands busy when your feeling very anxious! I also have my headphones to keep me motivated at college and my charger because everyone knows iPhone batteries last about an hour. And finally I have my little notebook and a pen as I've been writing so many lists lately and you never know when you might need a pen and paper!

Wishlist Wednesday! - Workout Wear

Due to it still being quite early in the new year and I'm sure one of everybody's new years resolutions was to get fitter or to eat healthier I've decided to make this wishlist Wednesday on workout wear! At the start of January I lasted a week as long as I could with the whole healthy eating lark but it's so difficult! so if your still going then well done!
Last summer I was obsessed with fitness and going to the gym but when I started college again it all got too expensive and I didn't have the time to go. I think when your exercising it's a little bit easier to eat healthier because you want to fuel yourself with energetic foods. Although if your like me then you think that exercising is an excuse to eat what you want and stay in the same shape. ooops.
Anyway at the start of the year the online shops like Boohoo and Missguided brought out their active wear probably to help everyone keep up with their new years resolutions but I just ignored it at first because I couldn't be bothered to exercise. However now that I'm a little bit more motivated I had a look at it all and I really like it! I'm sure we all want to be as stylish as these models when we work out, I just wish we could buy the skinny bodies aswell!

01: 'Sweat' Sweatshirt, Boohoo, £14 - what better sweatshirt to be wearing when your sweaty with this 'sweat'shirt. My favourite part of exercising is running and so I need lots of hoodies for it. This is quite light aswell so it doesn't weigh too much and bringing you down when your trying to run.
02: Grey Hoodie, Missguided, £14 - this also looks very light which is perfect for running. A hood is also good because let's face it, if you live in England like me then your always gonna have to face the rain issue.
03: Snakeskin Crop top, Boohoo, £6 - this was reduced from £12 I think which is always a bonus. I love the blue snakeskin sides it's very different. I don't think I'll be able to brave this on its own in public because it's cropped...maybe just for home workouts!
04: 'Run Bitch' top, Missguided, £10 - this top just makes me laugh but I think it's very motivating and might make me run a bit further than usual!
05: Grey Sports Leggings, Boohoo, £16 - I do really like all the in your face sports leggings which they do but Im way too scared to be able to pull them off so I like these grey ones it's different to the usual black.
06: Black Mesh Paneled Leggings, Boohoo, £12 - even though these leggings are black they've got the mesh panels which show a bit of your leg. Very daring! Hahaha I think again these are different to the usual plain black so I like them but whether they will look good on me I don't know.
07: Nike Trainers, Sports Direct, £36.99 - even though these are on a completely different website to the other things it's always essential to have a good trainer when working out to protect your feet. That's ben talking and not me! My current trainers are bright pink, of course! But I think my next pair need to be a little toned down!
08: Grey Sleeveless Hoodie, Missguided, £20 - This sleeveless hoodie looks so comfy, but will be great for runs in the summer when its too hot to be wearing long sleeves but too cold to be wearing just a top! The things we have to put up with in Britain...
09: Grey long sleeved workout top, Missguided, £20 - I'm pretty sure this top is the type of material that's dry fit or something? which is something we all need.

I hope this wishlist motivates me to workout more for the summer! I have linked all the links for you and I do apologise for the pink and the women's body on the Missguided photo's, I just couldn't get rid of them!

The Liebster Award!

Hello all!
I was very surprised to see this linked on one of my posts and if you didn't know then The Liebster Award is a way to discover smaller blogs who have less than 200 followers. I was nominated by Lucy Hoggard from A Dimpled Brunette who has a very lovely beauty blog so thanks for the nomination Lucy!

The Rules
1. You must thank and link the person who nominated you
2. You must answer their questions
3. You must nominate 11 others for the award
4. You must create 11 questions
5. You must tell the nominees via social media (via they're blog)

Lucy's Question's

1. What made you want to start blogging?
I started reading blogs a couple of years ago and looked forward to seeing their next posts. It all looked fun but I had no idea how to make one or how to make backgrounds or posts for that matter. My favourite posts would be fashion wishlists or make up reviews so I decided that if I could work out how to make and use a blog then I'd be able to make wishlists and reviews of my own and show everyone what I like instead of me always looking what other people liked!

2. Name your favourite bloggers
My favourite has to be Becky from MilkBubbleTea, she takes the most amazing pictures and writes really well. I always look forward to seeing her posts!
I also love Victoria from InTheFrow, her style is just lovely and she's even got a PHD?!

3. Your favourite film
This is a tricky one because I'm such a movie nerd! I love girly feel good films like Clueless, Sex and the City and Confessions of a Shopaholic!

4. Your top 3 make up products
Loreal True Match foundation because I absolutely cannot live without it!
Benefit Hoola Bronzer - my face would be flat without!
Mac Pure Zen Lipstick because it's beautiful day or night!

5. Describe your perfect day
Waking up fully rested without the need to set an alarm, eating my weight in pizza and chocolates, going to the cinema to watch a feel good film, going shopping to buy everything I can see, and to be drove around by someone else all day.

6. If you had the chance would you watch a trailer for your 2015?
Not really, I would be worrying all the time to either try and make the prediction happen or trying to stop it happening.

7. What would you tell your 10 year old self?
To not worry so much about what other people think and to always be yourself.

8. If you had to be an animal, what animal would you be and why?
A cat, they have no worries apart from being fed all the time and sleeping all day.

9. tea or coffee?
Definitely tea with no sugar but lots of milk

10. Favourite quote
Life's too short to be anything but happy!

11. Share a fact about yourself
Why is this question always so hard?! Okay I could live off of chocolate I love it that much!

My Questions:
  1. What inspired you to blog?
  2. If you could be anyone in the world who would you be and why?
  3. Sweet or Savoury?
  4. Who are your favourite bloggers?
  5. If you could only have one beauty product for the rest of your life what would it be?
  6. A night out or a night in?
  7. Favourite music genre?
  8. A funny fact about yourself?
  9. Do you have any regrets?
  10. Would you rather skydive or bungee jump?
  11. If you could have a superpower, what would you have and why?

London Fashion Week 2015 | My favourites!

Hello lovelies!
You probably will be aware that last weekend was the start of London's Fashion Week 2015 so I thought I'd take a snoop around all the websites to see what went off and here are some of my favourite pieces!

Hunter Original
To start off with, this outfit is from Hunter Original and to be honest I didn't think I'd find much off them as everyone knows them just for their wellies but I quite like this as its so simple but the yellow and browns make it stand out and make it feel very autumnal. The collection is also full of high neck tops and coats so we know what to look out for this autumn! I love that they've tried to make the wellies a fashionable shoe and I would actually wear them! This outfit is obviously perfect for if it rains, which it tends to do in autumn and winter...

Jonathan Saunders

I really liked the collection from Jonathan Saunders because all of the outfits were things which can actually be worn on a day to day basis without being too puffy or too out there. The whole collection is very retro and vintage but has modern touches like the shoes to make the outfit relevant to today. The dress in the top photo reminds me of Pocahontas or something but is very autumnal and I love the white panel down the middle to brighten up the dress. The love the shape of the dress in the bottom photo it just flows really nicely and looks very elegant. What I love most about the collection however is the shoes just look how nice they are! I NEED THEM!!

Julien Macdonald

Julien Macdonald has stuck to dark colours including blue, green, red and of course everyone's favourite, black. The collection of evening wear is stunning and I particularly love these two little numbers. The top outfit of the jumpsuit is so fierce but covers everything just right. I love the dress in the bottom photo as Iv always really liked these short dresses but actually long kinda thing and the detailing is just so pretty!

Orla Kiely
Orla Kiely's collection is again very vintagey and it reminds me of the how women dressed during the war times, maybe its because the models are all wearing grey tights and black shoes with everything. This outfit stood out for me in the collection because the coat is so bright and out there I would love to be able to pull it off!

Topshop Unique
The entire Topshop Unique collection stood out to me, it was full of nudes and fur and is probably one of the most affordable designers of the week. I love the leafy floral dress as its got a high neck and the pattern kind of shows that its not summer any more. However the coat is my favourite and we all know how much I love coats! It looks so soft and so warm and even though its a faded burgundy it still looks like it can be worn over anything!

Vivienne Westwood Red Label
Vivienne Westwood's entire collection is very crazy creative as it always is and I would love to see people being able to pull off what she makes. This is the only one of the outfits which looks as though you could wear it for going out or something. I really love the shape of this dress and the bluey colour material which she has used and think it has been accessorised perfectly!

So that's my favourite pieces from London Fashion Week! I hadn't heard of many of the designers but they're all so talented and you can find more from them here.

What were your favourite pieces?

My week in photos! | (11.01.15 - 18.01.15)

I'm sure I'm not the only one suffering with the January blues and over the last week or two I've lost all motivation to do absolutely anything and all I've wanted to do is get in bed with a box of chocolates and netflix! So to get me motivated to blog more often I thought I'd start off with a week in photos!

01: Yes I'm aware that Christmas is well and truly over but I still have some of Lush's lovely Christmas bath bombs left and thought I'd take a soak with this Golden Wonder and look how amazing it is! I never expected it to turn blue of all colours but it also had cute little stars inside which you might be able to see on one of the pictures!
02: Holy moly look at this Spaghetti Bolognaise that Ben made me! He always puts lots in so there's lots of different flavours and it was amazing!
03: Wahhh I had to get my car repaired which cost me an arm and a leg and had to catch a bus! I'm not a public transport snob, it doesn't really bother me but its depressing having to get it when you have a car waiting for you.
04: I've really been  obsessed with smoothies lately - my favourite is mango and passion fruits... but I thought I'd try this one for a change and if your thinking of trying it I'm warning you it's the worse smoothie I've ever tasted...
05: Hahaha she might kill me for putting this on here but I find it hilarious! My sister Sarah stealing my iPad and taking selfies with our cat - he doesn't look impressed.
06: Another kitty selfie but my cat literally has an obsession with feet and I thought he looked proper cute in this pic!
07: I have been loving Love Spell spray by Victoria's Secret this week and it used to be my worse one! They all look so pretty aswell!

I hope you all have had a good week! Lets beat these January blues together!

Wishlist Wednesday! | River Island

Whilst browsing through the on-line sales I came across the new season collection in River Island and because we're stuck in our warm cosy jumpers while its raining outside I thought that I'd have a nosey at what we could expect next season and well, I fell in love...

Even though I'm a winter gal, I fell in love with all the pretty pastel colours and this light grey/baby blue that I keep seeing is so lovely. So after stalking the collection for quite some time I realised that my recently viewed items came to this. Without realising I've put together a very pretty and classy little outfit that would look lovely this spring!

01: Rose gold watch/ £35 - I'm still not one for watches but I do think this one is elegant yet vintage so I thought it went quite nicely with the outfit.
02: White bucket bag/ £40 - I get very scared with white bags because if your not careful they can get dirty very easily. However it's rare that I find nice bags in River Island that don't have the label on (I'm not a big fan of the metal label) and it has gold hardware which I'm loving at the moment so I love it! I would just have to be careful around the fake tan...
03: Navy striped shirt/ £28 - I don't know what it is that draws me to this shirt but I like it very much. It reminds me of the sailor theme but love that it's stripes are vertical which is very flattering and just looks like it will hang really nicely on.
04: Mid wash jeggings/ £42 - I love this colour Jean but the colour also scares me because it can look very unflattering on my legs. However I'm going to try and be brave this year and wear a jean of this shade as I do love the look of them, just not on myself...
05: White round sunglasses/ £13 - Out of all the sunglasses these are the ones that popped out to me. I thought they were a baby blue colour but their description says they are white which is a little confusing, but anyway if they are what they look like in the picture then they look so cute and would be lovely for the summer!
06: Grey peep toe platform/ £55 - If I was brave enough to wear heels in the daytime then these would go with many things in the spring and summer due to the lovely colour. If you would want to risk taking the suade down town then these would also make a good pair of night heels as the platform will make them nice and comfy!

I hope this has beaten a bit of the January blues by getting you a bit more excited for spring! Which piece is your favourite?
