Happy National Lipstick Day!

So if you didn't know already today is National Lipstick Day! This may mean nothing to some people but I just find it so cute how lipstick has been given a day. Lipstick is my favourite part of my make up collection and so I never mind spending more than I should on a good quality lippy. However I was very happy to receive an email from Debenhams saying that due to National Lipstick Day there is £5 off all lipsticks! I couldn't resist so here are my purchases...

Now I am very aware that a few of these lipsticks look the same but to me there all different and will all make a different colour on my lip.
The top 3 lippys are all MAC - they produce such nice quality lipsticks for a decent price but because of the £5 off it ment they were all £10.50 each! thats like 3 for 2 really...
Anyway the colours which I bough from left to right are Pure Zen, Heroine and Sunny Seoul.
I then got a Bobbi Brown creamy lip colour in Coral Pink (bottom left) which was on my July Wishlist and I think it will be a staple this summer.
My last and most extravagant purchase was this Yves Saint Laurent rouge volupte lipstick in shade #13 peach passion. I've seen these lipsticks everywhere and just fell in love with the packaging. The band around the middle is the colour of each lipstick. I had seen this colour being swatched on a YouTube video and it looks beautiful but obviously ill try and save this one for special occasions...

The way to a woman's heart...shoes!

all I seem to be thinking about lately is shoes. and why not? its said that people most judge what type of person you are depending on what type of shoes you wear which is the excuse I keep going to as a reason to buy some new shoes. A pair of shoes can last a lot longer than an outfit so even though they can sometimes seem quite pricey they're more like an investment. so as iv been stalking the web for a couple of hours trying to find the perfect pair of flats I thought id share with you some of my findings...

1: These oatmeal pointed flats are from New Look and are £17.99. I love the colour and think they're great for summer and autumn - they'll be especially good for the days when you can't be bothered to paint your toes.
2: The 'white' sandals from River Island and are £22. Personally I think they look like a pretty pastel blue colour and fell in love with them but it might just be the photo. Even if they are white like described they can be slipped on with anything and still look good!
3: These orangey reddy coloured pointed flats are from Matalan and are only £12! My sister Sarah also works at a Matalan so hopefully I should get a bit more discount hehe. I am trying to add more colour into my wardrobe and so these will do the job!
4: White chunky gladiator sandals again from Matalan reduced from £20 to £14! I just love seeing the red sale label and these sandals are perfect for the summer especially if your going out for a meal or something nice.
5: These amazing sandals are a hefty £75 but are from no other than Kurt Geiger - no wonder they're so beautiful! They are of course way too expensive for me to buy but a woman can dream...
6: And finally these pretty little things are from Office and have been reduced from £50 to £22!! The detailing on these shoes is just so pretty and I think they would look good with anything!

So if anybody feels generous your more than welcome to buy me a pair!

mini gym wear haul!

So today me and my boyfriend Ben decided we'd do something a little different so headed out to Junction 32. I'd heard they had lots of sports shops which had discounted stock and seeing as I'm trying to get back into the gym I thought why not?!

I know I can't really call it a haul because there's not much but these are a few of my purchases:

The first purchase was this Nike top which looks huge on the photo but actually its fairly small. I really needed some proper gym tops - I have only have two and are the sort of dry fit material but I don't like how they hang on my body so was thrilled when I saw this for £10!

I also got this similar adidas one - you just can't go wrong with paying a fiver for it.

My best purchase was these trainers. They are the Nike Dual Fusion Running Trainers which were reduced to £26! I have to admit these were actually in the kids section but they're a 5.5, they fit perfect and I just love them!

This last purchase has nothing to do with the gym attire but its the only other thing I bought from Junction 32 so I might as well include it. Its a summer set of Yankee Candle samplers and even the box smells amazing - this was reduced from about £10 or £11 to £7.99.

June Beauty Favourites!

Okay I know were in the middle of July but here are some products that I really loved last month:

The first is this Dream Pure BB cream by Maybelline - I was so scared to try a BB cream out as I thought they wouldn't give me enough coverage especially when I get breakouts but I have to say I was surprised at how much this covers! I do have to put a bit extra on my cheeks for extra coverage but you don't have to feel guilty because its just a BB cream! The main reason why I love this cream so much is because its made for oily skin and has salicylic acid inside which is very good if you have spots. I also feel like in the summer months you don't wanting to be adding layers of foundation to your face every day - unless your lucky enough to have something fabulous to do every single day... so this cream is perfect if your wanting to have a break from foundation!
If you have lovely skin and don't suffer from breakouts there is another Maybelline Dream BB cream called Dream Fresh BB Cream.

The next product is for when your wanting a more full coverage look and its Loreal True Match foundation. I have two shades one for when I'm pale and one for when iv got fake tan on but either way I still love them both. I just don't feel like their like any other foundation as you can barely feel as though your wearing foundation as they're so light on the skin! Its also so easy to build up on areas which need a little bit more coverage and blends nicely into the skin too! One little disclaimer about this product though is that I sometimes feel like it can make me break out. Does anyone else have this issue?

Now for the brows...This is one of the best bits for me when applying make up because I just feel like it structures my whole face. I have been loving this Illamasqua Eye Brow Cake in 'Thunder' with the Mac 266 brush as its so easy to apply! Its a very small pot and being Illamasqua its not the cheapest product but its so pigmented and a little bit goes a long way so I feel like its gonna last me ages!

This is the nicest shade of blush I think iv ever seen. Its Mac's Powder Blush in the shade 'Fleur Power' which I think is pronounced as flower power? But this shade looks so nice on my skin when I'm pale or tanned so pretty much anyone can use it. Its not too bright either it just gives a natural look which is why I love it so much.

Maybelline just keep doing it right and this concealer (Instant Anti-Age, The Eraser Eye) is essential when I'm applying my base. This covers my dark circles and blemishes so beautifully and highlights the inner corners of my eyes so nice as well. I just LOVE it.

When I find a good lipstick which suits me nicely I get so giddy as even though the shades will look nice on anyone - certain shades look better on different people so its like some sort of life long quest to find the perfect shades for you! Anyway I've been reaching for these lipsticks so much as the shades are beautiful and Mac lipsticks just feel so nice and creamy on my lips. The first shade and the picture on the left is Hue which is like a pale pink. Its not too bright and in your face and looks nice on a day to day basis whether I'm pale or tanned! The second lipstick and the picture on the right is Mac's Myth which is the perfect nude for when I'm pale. It still looks nice when I have a tan but sometimes I feel like it makes me look like iv got foundation lips and we don't want them do we...

The most wonderful time of the day...

Even though I don't do it as often as I should, personal pamper time is so nice to have especially after a long day/week or if you just want to wind down and relax. So as I had one of these lovely little nights the other day I thought id share how nice it was...
I firstly ran a bath and added bath salts and bath lotion and then started lighting candles to set the relaxing mood...

This little one is an from Ikea and doesn't smell of anything but love the colour when it burns...

This gives off such a strong smell and is perfect in cosy little conditions. I know its summer but at the time I was just craving some colder weather - it was a verrrryy hot day.

This is a little sampler sized Yankee candle called 'November Rain'. I love the smell of rain but this just isn't strong enough for me but I thought it would go well with the mountain lodge.

Before getting in the bath I cleansed my face with both of these clear start cleansers by dermalogica's clear start collection. They both make my skin feel squeaky clean which is perfect for my breakout prone skin.

I then applied this face mask which smells delicious and left it on for the duration of the bath - I'm sure they're nice and cheap as far as face masks go and they make your skin feel soooo soft.

I am lucky enough to have something at the side of the bath which holds up my iPad (the toilet!) so I can watch netflix without the worry of if it will end up falling in the bath and dying if I accidentally knock it.

July Wishlist!

So the other night I was browsing the online shops when I came across these lovely products:

1: Long black duster jacket, Topshop, £79 – I think this jacket is perfect for when you want something a bit more formal or for when you’re going out. It would be great for those occasions which you’re wearing a dress to or for the journey to a nice place where you might want to cover yourself up a bit. Its quite pricey but I feel like it could last a lifetime.

2: Check oversized shirt, River Island £28 – even though this is on my July wishlist I feel like it will be perfect for the colder months with a pair of skinny jeans. It may even look good in the summer tied around the waist whilst wearing a pair of shorts and then it can be thrown on as the day gets colder.

3: Grey Saffiano Tote, Kurt Geiger London, £180 – this would be an investment product but it would last forever. I am just so in love with this bag and if I had £180 spare then this would be mine! Unfortunately I don’t so it belongs on my wishlist but someday you will be mine!

4: Blush faux fur gilet, Topshop, £65 – I have seen these around for a while now and personally love them. I don’t think they will be good for the summer but again as the winter comes in I think this will look great on top of a long sleeved black top and some skinny jeans. I think it could look good dressed up or dressed down!

5: White tunic dress, Topshop, £38 – This dress is so cute and again I think it would look great dressed up with a leather jacket and heels or would still look good dressed down with a pair of sandals. It’s not shown up great on the picture but I love the different details on the dress as at the top of the dress there are little holes and in the middle there’s a lace panel which makes the dress more exciting.

6: Gold round sunglasses, River Island limited edition, £13 – these sunglasses are just so pretty and look a lot more expensive than £13! I am in desperate need of new sunglasses and I think these will go with everything!

7: Bobbi Brown creamy lip colour (coral pink), £19.50 – this colour is perfect for the summer and I’ve heard the Bobbi Brown creamy lip colours are so nice on your lips! I know it’s very pricey to be spending on a lipstick but I feel like lipsticks last ages and you want to put something on your lips which is going to be good for them, right?

8: Lancome Palette, House of Fraser, £28.50 – okay so again this is very pricey for what it is but just look at how beautiful this palette is? Its got the whole package, the contour, blush and highlight and the colours are just so pretty especially for summer. I even read that these colours can also be used for eye shadow and they would all look lovely on the lid especially the brown shade.

Hope you enjoyed!

The first post!

Hello everybody! (or anyone...)
So this is my first post as a blogger and I never knew it would be as hard as this! I've been considering making a blog for a couple of months now and already have ideas which I want to post about but never thought how hard it would be to start it off. What do you actually write in this first post? do I talk about myself or do I just get straight in with a beauty review or something?
Any who since iv been debating this for quite a while now I have come to the conclusion that ill just write about whatever's in my mind atm.
So as you'll have seen all around this blog my name is Nicola, I'm 19, I'm from Sheffield, I'm a student at college but have a part time job to pay for my shopping addiction. I love reading other peoples blogs so just thought why not start one of my own! after all you do only live once haha. I'm wanting to post as often as I can but at least once a week although the first couple of months will be more as I'm off college and I'm just starting out.
Anyway hope you enjoyed and will leave you with a recent selfie which I took last Saturday as we went out for my sisters birthday. The dress is from missguided and the lipstick is No7 Gay Geranium.

Bye!
P.s does anyone else find it difficult to write a blog without using emojis as they just keep popping up in your head?
